Like no other children’s book before, My Sister Has Super Powers gives individuals a glimpse into the everyday reality of a family supporting a loved one with special needs, while offering child readers faces and characters they can relate to.
The Author
The son of educational entrepreneurs, author and father Rodney McFadden was gifted from the start with a love for learning, and an ability to lift the spirits of those around him. This South Carolina native defied environmental circumstance, going on to become a beloved Educator, Athlete, Coach, Motivational Speaker, Musician--and most recently Author and Chaplain. A true polyhistor, Rodney works diligently to develop the opportunities given him; while humbly giving credit to God and his family for his myriad of successes.
Inspired by the bourgeoning brilliance he saw in his children Journee and Carter, Rodney sought to capture this truth to share with the world - that all children have been endowed by their Creator with awesome, even Super Powers that should not be trivialized, or ignored. The book’s rhyming verse supports literacy in young or struggling readers, and provides a poetic story flow to help retain young listeners’ attention. His wife Denys, encouraged by these beautiful words, adds her artistic gifts; making this a true “family affair”.
Rodney hopes to continue spreading this message while writing new adventures of his "Dynamic Duo." He asks that we all share our experiences and positive visions, as we build a strong foundation; fit for our children to thrive.
